William is my earliest Garland at present. I only have his name through the wedding certificate of his son Samuel GARLAND, where he is described as a Beadle.

Bentley's directory of 1840/41 gives a William GARLAND as Guildhall Keeper &c, in Diglis Street, Worcester.
